My client has been in business for over 50 years, they are a leader in the design, construction, refurbishment and creation of specialist roofing and surfacing solutions for homes, public and private sector clients.

They are currently looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Construction Yard Manager to join their team on a Permanent basis.

Duties:

• Managing and organising the resources within the construction yard, including equipment, machinery tools and materials.
• Handling the logistics and inventory control including receiving and organising incoming materials, tracking inventory levels, coordinating deliveries and pickups, and ensuring that materials are readily available when needed
• Overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure its optimal functioning. Scheduling routine maintenance, coordinating repairs, and keeping maintenance records up to date.
• Conducting safety inspections, on the worksites, providing training to yard personnel, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
• Overseeing the yard staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that work is performed efficiently and safely. Handling staffing, scheduling, and performance management within the yard
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers. Negotiating contracts, coordinating equipment deliveries and pickups, and managing relationships to ensure timely and reliable equipment support.
• You will be responsible for the upkeep, organisation, and security of the yard and all equipment and materials within
• Writing policies and procedures for checking out and checking in tools, ordering equipment, maintaining equipment, etc.

Ideal Candidate:

• Forklift certification preferred.
• Previous experience Managing/Supervising a Yard preferred.
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft Software
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate high-level conversations and projects.
• You must hold either a triple STS or SMSTS qualification
• You must have valid CSCS Card
