Environmental Health Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join our clients team, committed to safeguarding public health and promoting environmental safety. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of inspections in and around the Rugby area focusing on Food Hygiene.

The role covers investigation of complaints and environmental health matters. Taking regulatory/enforcement action when appropriate.

Other duties include providing advice and guidance to the public and external agencies.

Duties

• Food hygiene inspections
• Collecting and preparing and maintaining information, records and data
• Representing the local authority when dealing with outside agencies
• Maintaining an awareness of current and new legislation relevant to the role
• Liaising with members of the public and local businesses
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and actions taken in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to promote community health initiatives

Experience

• CIEH registered or evidence of working towards registration
• A full driving licence to drive motor vehicles
• Experience of using enforcement powers in an appropriate and relevant discipline
• A high standard of IT competence
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to deal effectively with challenging customers
