We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join our clients team, committed to safeguarding public health and promoting environmental safety. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of inspections in and around the Rugby area focusing on Food Hygiene.
The role covers investigation of complaints and environmental health matters. Taking regulatory/enforcement action when appropriate.
Other duties include providing advice and guidance to the public and external agencies.
Duties
- Food hygiene inspections
- Collecting and preparing and maintaining information, records and data
- Representing the local authority when dealing with outside agencies
- Maintaining an awareness of current and new legislation relevant to the role
- Liaising with members of the public and local businesses
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and actions taken in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to promote community health initiatives
Experience
- CIEH registered or evidence of working towards registration
- A full driving licence to drive motor vehicles
- Experience of using enforcement powers in an appropriate and relevant discipline
- A high standard of IT competence
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to deal effectively with challenging customers
