About the Role

Are you looking to develop your career in finance and gain valuable experience in management accounts?

We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join the Internal Finance team of a growing and ambitious professional services firm based in Shrewsbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance or accounts experience, or someone currently studying AAT, who is keen to build their knowledge and progress their career within a supportive team.

You will work alongside experienced finance professionals and gain exposure to a wide range of financial processes and management accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Assistant, your duties will include:

• Processing invoices accurately and efficiently
• Responding to supplier queries
• Maintaining accurate creditor balances and completing monthly reconciliations
• Processing client disbursements
• Preparing weekly supplier payment runs
• Processing daily bank transactions and allocating receipts and payments
• Raising client invoices
• Supporting subscription service starters and leavers
• Assisting with the collection of outstanding debt
• Processing month-end journals
• Monitoring timesheets and expenses
• Assisting with month-end financial checks
• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Ensuring purchasing procedures and internal controls are followed

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Detail-oriented with excellent attention to accuracy
• Organised and able to meet deadlines
• Confident working with numbers and financial information
• A strong communicator with good relationship-building skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Keen to learn and develop their finance and accounting knowledge

AAT Level 2, 3 or 4 qualified, or currently studying towards AAT, would be desirable.

Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is also desirable, but this could be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career.
