My client manufactures animal bedding out of good quality, recycled softwood and is looking for a reliable Hook Lift and Draw Bar Driver to join their team.

The Hook Lift and Draw Bar Driver will collect trailers and skips of wood byproducts from mills and other sites. To enable this and to support future development, successful candidates must be prepared to learn a variety of skills and will be given appropriate training.

Working hours are 5.30am-2.30pm.

You will be required to work some weekends and nights out when needed.

Duties of an HGV Class 1 Driver:

• Required to operate/pull skips and modified trailers
• Compliance with driver regulations
• Liaison with Transport Logistics Manager to prioritise and complete collections/swaps
• Local and long-distance collections
• Customer contact and liaison
• Carry out statutory checks (pre-use and end of shift)
• Accurate completion and handling of administrative paperwork to ensure compliance
• Reporting of defects

The successful HGV Class 1 Driver will require:

• A valid full category Class 1/HGV C+E licence
• Must have a current LGV CE CPC and Digi Card
• Good awareness of safe working practices
• Experience in driving a Hook Lift vehicle
• Experience of driving a Drag trailer, or willing to learn
